for the purposes of party related activities, including membership

management, event organization, fundraising, and

communication with party members and supporters.

The party shall obtain explicit consent from individuals

before collecting their personal information, clearly outlining

the purposes for which the information will be used.

 

1.3. Minimization:
United Canadian Centrists shall collect only the information

necessary for the intended purpose, ensuring data minimization

and limiting the scope of personal data collected.

 

1.4. How information is collected:
Some information is provided to the Party directly by Elections Canada,

such as a list of electors that include names and addresses.

We also collect information from publicly available data sources.
We also obtain other information that Canadians choose to give us.

This may occur in a variety of ways, including:
– When visiting our website for the purpose of becoming involved

with the Party as a member, volunteer, or donor including by filling

in a registration form.
– When subscribing to our communications, such as email

updates or text message alerts.
– When registering for an event or at a Party convention.
– When completing any other form on a Party website, including

online petitions and policy proposals.

 

1.5. Information collected:
The information we collect may include: Contact and identification

information, such as your name, address, telephone numbers,

age if you are not yet of voting age, citizenship or permanent

resident status, e mail address and social media contacts. Donation

information such as date, frequency, and amount of your donation.

Financial information that we need to process donations, membership

fees or event fees, for example payment methods and preferences,

billing information (for example credit card number and expiry date).

Information Canadians share about their voting preferences

or issues that they have communicated to us about.

2. Use and Disclosure of Personal Information:

2.1. Internal Use:
Personal information collected by United Canadian Centrists shall

be used exclusively for internal party activities and communications,

respecting the privacy preferences of party members.

2.2. Third Parties:
United Canadian Centrists shall not disclose personal information

to third parties without the explicit consent of the individuals,

except when required by law or for essential party operations

(for example payment processors for donations).

2.3. Sensitive Information:
The party shall exercise extra caution and seek explicit consent

when processing sensitive personal information,

such as health related data or political beliefs.

3. Data Security and Integrity:

United Canadian Centrists shall implement appropriate technical

and organizational measures to protect personal information

from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

This includes ensuring data is only shared within party email

and database systems or encrypted keys in electronic forms.

Paper copies will be stored securely in locked cabinets

and transported in secured envelopes or folders.
Data access will only be given to individuals on a need to know

basis, after privacy training and after signing an oath to protect the data.
United Canadian Centrists takes the threats of cyberattacks and

data breaches seriously and will ensure all data systems and storage

are reviewed by cyber experts to minimize vulnerability.

Training will also be given on electronic data protection.

3.2. Data Integrity:
The party shall take measures to ensure the accuracy and

reliability of personal information, allowing individuals to

update their information and rectify inaccuracies.

The party shall designate a responsible party for overseeing data

United Canadian Centrists shall retain personal information

only for the duration necessary to fulfill the purposes for which

it was collected, and shall securely dispose of

information that is no longer required.

Personal information that is no longer needed shall be

securely deleted, shredded, or otherwise irreversibly

anonymized to prevent unauthorized access.

When visiting any party website your privacy is respected.

Data collected such as IP addresses, date and location is safeguarded

in accordance with Canadian Privacy law. This information is used

only to optimize the performance and content of the website.
